Flying trapeze was invented in 1859 by Jules Leotard (yes, he also invented the leotard) and first performed by Cirque Napoleon now known as Cirque d'Hiver. Since then it has become a mainstay at circuses of all types around the world, but if far from limited to just circus performances, it its difficult to think of a major city without a trapeze school. There are also resorts now offering flying trapeze as a form of recreation, flying trapeze classes can even be found at a popular furniture store located in New England.

There have been many great flying trapeze acts, many of them made up of families and many assembled of excellent "flyers" for a particular show. One of the great current flying trapeze troupes currently touring the world are none other than the "High Flying Pages". They can be found performing at fairs, hot air balloon festivals, circuses and theme parks around the world.

The Flying Pages core performers are family members, extended family and also some of the best flyers in the world who have gone through rigorous auditions to join this performing unit.
The Flying Pages have an outstanding set up that is attractive and eye catching even between shows. The show themselves are high energy and breathtaking keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.

In addition to the Flying Trapeze other elements of performance are added to the show to fit the needs and budget of the venue. Some of these other performances include equestrian performance, hula hoops, Russian swing, aerial lyra, silks and more.
Just added to the 2011 repertoire for indoor (arena) performances is the new "double" flying trapeze, they flying pages also perform the standard flying trapeze as well as the double catcher flying trapeze.
