June has been a month of premiers; the world premier of Eddie Money's Musical Autobiography "Two Tickets To Paradise", the premier of Circus Flora's Medrano in St. Louis with Johnny Peers and the Muttville Comix, and the premier performance of Magically Medieval in New England.
Eddie Money's "Two Tickets to Paradise", Eddie's own musical autobiography opened at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center on June 4th and played through June 14th. Directed by John Blenn. Produced by Gordon MacKay and Eddie Money. Gordon and Eddie hand picked Long Island for this world premier since it was where they both grew up. The part of the young Eddie Money was masterfully played by the young newcomer Jesse Kinch, who attended the same high school (Island Trees) as Eddie. Eddie himself narrated his life story and performed in the finale. The show received excellent reviews and was well received by the audience. All performance were extremely well attended. We are currently working on several opportunities to put the show on tour as well as permanent shows in Las Vegas.
Johnny Peers and the Muttville Comix provided comedy and canine antics in the Circus Flora production of Medrano in St. Louis. The show also featured the Flying Pages (double catcher flying trapeze) and the Flying Wallendas (high wire). As always tickets were hard to come by as the shows filled up quickly and some excellent reviews from the St. Louis media. I'm sure the circus magazines will follow suit in the next issue.
Magically Medieval with illusionist Taylor Michaels made is New England premier at Maine's LaKermesse Festival. This Renaissance themed magic and illusion show features Taylor and some appearance including LaKermesse Taylor is assisted by his wife Vicki. This has been one of our most popular shows this year probably because of its excellent value pricing and the fact it carries its own stage sound and lights. They have a few more stops in New England this year before heading home to North Carolina where Taylor teaches school which begins in mid-August.
Brian Dwyer also made a return appearance this month for Northeastern University at the Family Day at Fenway event for the schools alumni. Brian performed as "Big League Brian" which he has done for several years now on Yawkey Way before each and every Red Sox home game. Brian has been on countless sports casts as well as the movie "Fever Pitch" will Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon.
